Volunteers play a vital role in the Susan G. Komen Colorado South Race for the Cure®. Their passion and commitment is what makes our Race successful. Today, thanks to more than 100,000 survivors and volunteers/activists, Susan G. Komen® is the world’s largest, most progressive grassroots organization fighting breast cancer.
It’s fun. It’s rewarding. And you’ll meet some truly incredible people when you volunteer for the Komen Colorado South Race for the Cure. The success of the Race depends heavily on the support we receive from more than 500 volunteers in the months leading up to the Race and on Race Day.
Fun-loving, enthusiastic, hard-working and reliable individuals who are willing to contribute to the success of the Komen Colorado South Race. Typically, our volunteers are 16 years and older.
There are two ways you can volunteer for the Race:
1. We are always looking for volunteers to help with pre-Race planning, organization and marketing. If you are interested in helping us pre-Race, please complete this volunteer application. Please note that if you have volunteered for us in the past you need to look for the sentence 'Hello. Already a Member?' and sign in before selecting a job for this event. You will receive confirmation of your volunteer registration that will include your point of contact on event day.
2. It takes hundreds on Race Day to provide the best experience to our participants. Race Day positions will be posted soon. If you are interested in volunteering on Race Day, please complete this volunteer application. Please note that if you have volunteered for us in the past you need to look for the sentence 'Hello. Already a Member?' and sign in before selecting a job for this event. You will receive confirmation of your volunteer registration that will include your point of contact on event day.
Information for your specific job assignment (start/end time and location) will be provided via e-mail when you sign up. Contact the Shift Coordinator provided in that e-mail if you have any questions or changes.
Volunteer Parking is available on 31st Street in the Pleasant Valley Neighborhood. Volunteer parking opens at 4:00 a.m. Please do not park on Chambers Way (handicapped parking) and be courteous to the homeowners who so generously allow us to park in their neighborhood.
Bring coffee, water, sunscreen, hat, snacks, and a flashlight (if you are on an early-morning set-up shift). Please wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes. Dress for the unpredictable Colorado weather, as the Race will take place rain or shine!
Please notify the Shift Coordinator provided in your confirmation e-mail as soon as possible if you are unable to volunteer (or e-mail email@example.com) so we can find someone to fill your spot.
Please consider making a Donation or Registering for the Race. At Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, we make every penny count. In fact, 75 cents of every dollar spent goes toward our treating and curing breast cancer. It may be your donation that pushes us past a major turning point in discovering and delivering the cures.
All volunteers will receive a complimentary t-shirt (while supplies last) to be worn on Race Day.
